Hi again, everyone ! Golly, why does life get SO busy?  I`ve had friends and  family for meals lately and this recipe has been the biggest hit.  If you like REUBEN sandwiches this will be a winner for you too.
                                          Hearty German Chowder
In a medium saucepan combine : 2 cups chicken broth
                                                     1/2 c. finely chopped celery
                                                     1/2 c. finely chopped onion
                                                     1/4 c. chopped green pepper
 simmer about 10 min.until tender

Meanwhile, melt 1/2 stick butter and stir in 2 T. flour
cook together a minute or two and then stir in 2 c. half and half
cook until mixture thickens

Combine broth mixture and sauce mixture in one large pan

Then add:  1 c. shredded swiss cheese
                  1 c. chopped sauerkraut
1 c. diced up corned beef (I like the good kind from the deli)
                  Salt and pepper to taste
Heat all together and serve.

This is so quick and easy !  Serve it with some good rye or pumpernickle bread and some fresh carrot and celery sticks.  WOW !  Its the greatest!
I usually serve an apple dessert with this.

I hope you are all watching this blog because we are growing and wil soon have piuctures AND facebook.  Please let me know what you think......Smile Always, Bev
