Surprise! I am finally back...

Hello everyone, Surprise! I am finally back.......I was amazed that so many of you had checked in on my website. Thanks for caring.

My life has been a real adventure so I will try to update you all.
Roy passed away 11 years ago and I really miss him. However, I met a super guy from Oregon 2 years ago and we are now married. He has a lumber yard and hardware store in Baker City, Ore that his son is now running. We decided to live in my condo here in Utah since there is so many more things to see and do. Our first year together we took 10 major trips including Alaska and Hawaii, Philly and Atlanta. ( Have you ever been to the “COUNTRY LIVING arts and craft shows” I love it )
Dick Has 2 children and 6 grandchildren and I still have 23 grandkids and now 40 little great grand children. We love them all and TRY to keep up.

We just returned from introducing Dick to Cincinnati, Had a super time eating Cincinnati chili, Graeters ice cream (he loved them all) Had a tour of P and G and since Dick loves bridges we WALKED the suspension bridge over the OHIO river and back again. WE visited with a lot of old friends and are ready to go back!

Life is good, We are SO happy even though we are both 82 .
We feel great except for both having Macular degeneration which limits our driving..
Well, I`m sure that is more than you wanted to know but just know I am glad to be back visiting with you and hope to soon share some pictures and good food ideas
Please stay in touch and share your thoughts and ideas also.

SMILE ALWAYS, Bev Nye Hindman

We have a great time with our church group bunch of single ladies twice a month.  Love them all......

  1. I am so happy to hear from you again. I still use so many of your recipes, I just made the Melt in your mouth gingerbread cookies as I do every year. It wouldn't be Christmas without them! Also your carmel recipe, every fall I have to make it when the first apples are ready. We just dip the sliced apples in it. I am glad that you have found happiness I your life. May God Bless you.

  2. I was wondering if you have possession of any of your old TV appearances, like on video tape, and if so would you mind putting them on YouTube for us to enjoy? Personally I have scoured Youtube for old episodes of Bob Braun and Sunshine Corner, etc. looking for your appearances but they just don't seem to be out there and I know so may would love them and learn from your videos if they were to be transferred to digital and uploaded. Those videos would be amazing to see today!

  3. My mother passed along your books many years ago and tonight I made Grandma's Honey Bear Drink for my grandchildren. This time of year I think of you and wonder how you are doing. You have had a great influence on my homemaking.

  4. I have had your books since my Mom bought my first sunshine book for my wedding shower in 1978. I think I have read all your books cover to cover 50 times each! You have been an inspiration. Please post often!

  5. I have had your books since the 70's. My girls who are 35 and 30 love your books and the Cincinnati chili page is full of splatters of spices and tomato sauce. I'm so happy you are enjoying your new life adventure

  7. Hello, and God's best to you and your husband, and family!

I have wondered for years (many of those before the internet came along) how to use your tip about a jarful of rolled oats near the sink to dry off wet hands and prevent cracked fingers and dry skin.
It seemed to me that the oatmeal would become 'funky' if exposed to frequent moisture. I also felt uncomfortable about 'wasting' food.
Could you be so kind as to explain to me this method of skin-softening, and fill in the blanks on what I'm missing here?

    Many thanks, and prayers!
